Adopting a Cat

Adopting a Cat

It is finally happening. We adopted a cat!

We have been thinking of adopting a cat for more than a year. I did contact many shelters. Unfortunately, they were not happy with our house location and the fact that we will be first-time cat owners. After being let down a few times, I moved my search to Pets4Home and Freeads. It didn't take long to find what I was looking for. A British Shorthair cat was looking for a new home. After a few chats, the owner seemed very happy and confident that I would be a good new owner. However, two arrangements to collect and drop the little cat had failed. The current owner found it really hard to depart from her cat, which I could understand. I let her take her time to think and decide. After a month she contacted me and was ready to drop the cat at my address. I was thrilled! Yet again, on the arranged date, she messaged me that she changed her mind and couldn't let the cat go. She felt bad and was very apologetic. I was disappointed but certainly could understand what she'd been through.

We were on the road, going back home after a weekend away at my in-laws, when I received the text. I ended up browsing for other options. That's when I found a Scottish Straight cat looking for a new home. I contacted the owner and it only took 3 hours later to finally meet this little Scottish Straight at our home. She was dropped by the previous owners.

Very happy to welcome our little Luna.
